The new Asus VG278H 3D Vision-ready 120Hz LCD monitor has an interesting option in the OSD menu that allows you to control the level of the 3D Lightboost and thanks to that I was able to try some interesting things. In the review of the Asus VG278H 3D monitor I have already mentioned that there are some things that you can do in order to improve the results you will get when using the monitor.

When and How You Can Use The 3D Vision Windowed 3D Mode

The ability to run 3D applications in a window and have them displayed in stereoscopic 3D mode while the rest of the image on the screen, such as your Desktop, remains in 2D is something fairly new to 3D Vision. It is a nice feature to have at times, like when playing an online MMO game for example, but you should be aware of how and when you can use the windowed 3D mode...

Do you remember back in June this year Nvidia announcing that new more affordable wired 3D Vision active shutter glasses are coming? Well, if you live in the US you are able to get these cheaper wired 3D Vision glasses for a while now for $99 USD, however if you live in Europe, where there are a lot of more price-oriented markets, you are still out of luck...

Asus VG278H 3D Monitor and New 3D Vision Glasses Coming Soon

Asus has been a bit slow with releasing this monitor, and although it was among the first announced 27-inch 3D-capable displays it is still not on the market, but that about to change. It has been added the in the latest Asus product catalog with specifications and hints for September release as well as for new 3D Vision glasses using Nvidia LightBoost technology for improved brightness.

The Game Batman: Arkham City Will Support 3D Vision on PC

Much like the previous Batman: Arkham Asylum game that was 3D Vision-ready game and looked great in stereoscopic 3D mode, the new Batman: Arkham City game will also support Nvidia’s 3D Vision for gaming in stereo 3D mode on the PC (3DTV Play for a 3D HDTV on PC) as well as stereo 3D support available for the Xbox 360 and PS3 console versions.

3D Vision Video Player Version 1.7.2 Now Available

Nvidia has released an updated version of the 3D Vision Video Player Version 1.7.2 (the latest Stereoscopic Player is version 1.7.3 and it has some extra features). The most interesting thing in the new 3D Vision Video Player 1.7.2 is the support for Windowed 3D mode along with the MVC decoding support, have in mind however that there is no MVC decoded included in the package.

Nvidia has announced a new more affordable model of the 3D Vision active shutter glasses that will be wired as opposed to the currently available wireless infrared version of the glasses and the wireless RF Pro version of 3D Vision. The new 3D Vision Wired glasses are going to cost $99 USD and they are expected to be available by the end of June...

Do you know that with the help of HTML5 you can now watch the stereoscopic 3D videos available on YouTube with 3D Vision directly from your browser, but for that to work you would need not only to have a 3D Vision PC, but also to use the latest Mozilla FireFox 4 browser as well as to update to the latest beta GeForce Driver 275.27. It seems that currently only Firefox 4 is being supported...
