    Panasonic Announced the DMC-3D1 3D-capable Digital Still Camera

    Back in September during the IFA trade show in Germany Panasonic has shown a prototype of an upcoming 3D-capable digital still camera and now they have officially announced the product that will be called Panasonic LUMIX DMC-3D1. The Lumix DMC-3D1 camera will come equipped with dual 12-megapixel sensors for recording 3D photos and 3D videos with Full HD resolution.

The Calimeo 3D model packs double the lenses into its palm-friendly chassis, recording Full HD 1920x1080 footage and allowing users to preview the 3D effect with a glasses-free autostereoscopic LCD display.

    Panasonic used this year's IFA trade show to announce and show an interesting prototype of a device they are working on, a twin-lens compact 3D digital camera that will go under the company's LUMIX product line. The Panasonic Lumix 3D camera may as well turn out to be the closest competitor to Fujifilm's 3D digital cameras that are already available for quite a while now...

    As if not to be left out behind, Samsung is also joining in other big names in the digital camera market that are introducing software 3D photo features to their compact digital cameras that do not feature dual lens and sensors to make them true 3D cameras. This is happening with the upcoming Samsung WB750 digital camera getting a 3D Panorama mode available...

    Lately there are a lot of new digital cameras that are getting their 3D treatment in the form of a 3D photo mode that works much the same mode as Sony's 3D Sweep Panorama mode. Panasonic, Nikon and Olympus are all adding a software 3D Photo mode to their digital cameras, but real 3D digital cameras are still not coming from an of these companies...

    JVC Upgrade its 3D GS-TD1 Camera with AVCHD 2.0

    JVC announced today that it will offer a free upgrade to its 3D Capable GS-TD1 Camera to AVCHD 2.0. This upgrade will allow all the advantage of AVHCD 2.0 to the GS-TD1 with the capacity to now record Full HD (1080/60p) 3D video at 34Mbps in to MP4 (MVC).

    The Sony Bloggie 3D MHS-FS3 is, unsurprisingly, a 3D-capable camera, as well as a competent 2D video camera in various formats. The recording options are 1080p 3D at 30 frames per second (fps), 1080p 2D at 30fps, 720p 2D at 60fps, 720p 2D at 30fps and 640 x 480 at 30fps. That's a lot of options for a little camera. In fact, it's comparable to the (larger) non-3D Panasonic HX-WA10 camcorder...
