    James Cameron, otherwise known as the king of 3D, has just come forward to talk about his latest project - capturing the magic of Cirque du Soleil into a 3D feature film. Yes, the director of Avatar has been turning his 3D prowess to Cirque du Soleil 3D. Even though it was just announced, Cameron has been quoted as saying it's already about 1/3 done.

    There is a sure way to extinguish that last light that keeps current 3D TVs on life support. Keep content scarce to support nose-bleed prices and keep movies out of reach for average consumers. If you want to see Avatar in 3D at home today, you will need to shell out at least $300 and possibly as much as $400 on eBay.

    'Harry Potter' Saga Getting 3D Re-Release

    After the proverbial kibosh was thankfully put on the 3D post-conversion for Deathly Hallows Part: 1, fans are hoping and praying the same is done with Part 2. It seemed like the 3D craze had passed the Harry Potter series and it was safe to be shown in perfectly fine, wonderfully "flat" 2D. But it turns out that the movies will get re-released both theatrically and at home in 3D fairly soon.

    It looks like Avatar just won't leave our news room. The mega-blockbuster-if-there-ever-was-one is making headlines again after some hidden 3D features have sprung up on the Blu-ray Collector's Edition version of the film. The only problem, of course, lies in obtaining one of those highly expensive 3D HDTVs in order to partake in the viewing experience itself.

    Expensive 3D Effects for Cheap Korean Melodrama

    Sex sells, and gratuitous breast shots of a gorgeous woman in 3D certainly have marketing appeal. One is reminded, however, that a good movie is first and foremost based on a good script. "Natalie," the first Korean live-action 3D movie, offers rather novel bedroom scenes, but the lack of dimension in the storyline makes it seem like it’s only a dummy run for an upcoming 3D epic.
