It seems that Samsung is discontinuing its existing 3D Starter Kit that is bundled with Blu-ray 3D versions of "IMAX 3D Triple Feature and How" to "Train Your Dragon". The new version of the 3D Starter Kit will feature Blu-ray 3D versions of "Shrek", "Shrek 2" and "Shrek the Third" and the latest "Shrek Forever After" will be offered via mail-in coupon.

We all remember several years ago when Panasonic made the front-page of many Magazine and Blogs across the world when they introduces the world first largest PDP TV with a 103" screen size. And Today, Panasonic announced yet another 103" PDP Full HD TV but this time with 3D Technology, the TH-P103MT2. It will be sold in Japan at 8.5 Million Yens - the same price as a Stock 2011 Nissan GT-R has.

U.S. 3DTV Shipments Reach 655,000 Through September

Consumer Reports: Plasma TV's Better For 3D

For the first time, Consumer Reports has rated 3D TV's, and concluded that plasma TV's are better than LCDs for displaying the technology, primarily because there is less ghosting. Consumer Reports tested 14 models and found that the same things that affected standard picture quality also affected 3D, including the aforementioned ghosting, as well as black level, brightness, and viewing angle.

Survey: Most won't buy new TV just to get 3D

Vendors might be trying to push 3D on consumers, but few appear willing to jump to the technology, a study released today by Deloitte has found. According to the international accounting and consulting firm, 83 percent of consumers say that 3D isn't enough to make them want to buy a new television.

3DTV Glossary Released

The MPEG Industry Forum and the 3D@Home Consortium have released their new glossary of terms for describing stereoscopic video. More than 235 terms made it into the final glossary, aimed at 3D videographers, crews, post, and test facilities. The "Glossary for Video & Perceptual Quality of Stereoscopic Video" is freely available in .pdf file.
