Running Stereo 3D Mode on i-O Display i-glasses PC/SVGA 3D HMD
submitted by stereo3d 623 days ago (via 3dvision-blog.com)
If you have an old Stereo 3D-capable HMD like i-O Display’s i-glasses PC/SVGA or any other similar model of the company you are probably quite disappointed by the fact that S3D worked with these video glasses only on the old Nvidia Stereo drivers and these do not work on newer video cards. But there are other possible alternatives...

Here are the slides of an interesting presentation Nvidia had on Siggraph 2009 about 3D Stereo implementation and usage in games and other 3D applications. Some interesting things about S3D in general and of course a little bit about 3D Vision and 3D Vision Discover.

A short guide on how to improve the depth perception of the Batman: Arkham Asylum Demo and this should probably also work on the final game when it comes out. First of all you should enable the advanced keyboard shortcuts for 3D Vision if you still haven't done so - these are needed for convergence adjustment to be available...

Nvidia's 3D Vision Discover Glasses are Out in the Wild
submitted by stereo3d 623 days ago (via 3dvision-blog.com)
Nvidia has raised the curtain and the 3D Vision Discover anaglyph glasses are a "secret" no more as you can see on the picture above of the real thing. They do not seem much different than normal paper anaglyph glasses, although the color filters do seem to be quite bigger, which should be a nice thing.

A lot of people were eagerly expecting the new 3D Vision-ready projectors from Viewsonic to become available on the market and to buy them to get really big Stereo 3D displays to play with, including myself. The New Wolfenstein Game and GeForce 3D Vision
submitted by stereo3d 623 days ago (via 3dvision-blog.com)
The new Wolfenstein game is out and I was quite eager to try it out as soon as possible in Stereo 3D mode, but unfortunately the experience you get from this combination is quite disappointing. There is no profile for the game in Nvidia's drivers and it does not handle Stereo 3D mode well by default...

How to Convert MPO Pictures to JPS (Stereo JPEG)
submitted by stereo3d 623 days ago (via 3dvision-blog.com)
You probably know that the stereo JPEG images are actually plain JPG file containing the two frames next to each other (for left and for right eye) and with an extension JPS (example above), so it is easy to work with. submitted by stereo3d 623 days ago (via 3dvision-blog.com)
As you probably know Fujifilm is using the fairly new MPO (multi-picture file format) to store the stereo pairs of the pictures you shoot in 3D with their camera and there is still not many software applications that support this file format. And with the program MPO2Stereo you can extract the stereo pairs into a separate frames for left and right eye.
